Steps
- Mix first 3 ingredients in saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat until Hard Crack (300–310°F).
- Take off heat and add flavoring and coloring.
- Stir well and pour out onto a buttered cookie sheet with sides.
- When partially set, start scoring with a buttered knife to make the candy easier to break into pieces.
Notes
- Stand far away from mixture when adding the flavoring with an exhaust fan on because cinnamon oil is VERY strong.

- 2 c sugar
- 1 c Karo light corn syrup
- 1 T water
- 0.5 to 0.75 t flavoring oil, e.g. cinnamon oil
- 0.5 t food coloring, optional
