Steps
- Preheat oven to 350ºF.
- Grease the bottom and sides of a 9 x 13” pan.
- In a bowl combine the dry ingredients (first 4 ingredients).
- In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients (last 3).
- Add the wet to dry and combine.
- Pour into greased pan and bake for about 25-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to fully cool and top with homemade buttercream icing or ready-made icing.

- 2 c + 1 T flour
- 0.75 c sugar
- 1 t baking soda
- 0.25 t salt
- 1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple in juice, use juice too
- 0.5 c applesauce
- 1 t vanilla extract
- buttercream icing
