Steps
- Saute peppers and onions in olive oil until wilted. Remove from frying pan.
- Add sausage to pan and cook slowly to brown. Flip over and cook on other side. Add wine, peppers, onions and seasoning (if needed). Continue to cook until sausage is no longer pink and peppers and onions are soft.
- For Sandwiches: Soft hoagie rolls, not too thick. Serve with catsup or condiment of choice, if desired.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage, sweet or hot
- 2 medium size green peppers, cleaned and sliced
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 3 T olive oil
- 2 T red wine, optional
- Garlic salt & Oregano to taste, if not authentic sausage
