Stuffing for Turkey

For 15-12 lb turkey.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 c diced celery
  • 2 c diced onion
  • 2/3 c butter or 1 stick
  • 5 c broth or water
  • 2 pkg unseasoned croutons stuffing cubes
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2-1 apple chopped
  • 1/2-1 granny smith apple chopped
  • 1 c chopped nuts walnut or pecan
  • 1 c raisins
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 lb raw Jimmy Dean sausage

Method
 

  1. Saute onion, celery, thym, and rosemary in melted butter until onion and celery is tender.
  2. Mix croutons, onion, celery, eggs, nuts, apples, raisins, and sausage in large mixing bowl until thoroughly mixed, moistening as needed with the broth.
  3. Bake in turkey cavity and neck or in baking dish at 350° for 45 minutes.
