Banana Bars

These bars never last long at family get togethers.

Steps

  1. Cream together sugar and margarine.  Add eggs and sour cream; mix well. Add bananas and vanilla. Stir together salt, soda and flour; add to banana mixture; mix well.
  2. Spread dough in a greased and floured 15 x 10 inch pan.
  3. Bake in a 350°F oven 20-25 minutes.
  4. Cool and spread with the following: Melt ¼ cup margarine  in pan over low heat until bubbly.  Remove from heat.
  5. Add 2 cups sugar and 3 T sour cream.  Beat with a mixer until creamy.
  6. Spread on baked mixture.
  7. When cool, cut into bars.

  • 1.5 c sugar
  • 0.5 c softened margarine, or butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 2 c flour
