Cinnamon Candy

Steps

  1. Mix first 3 ingredients in saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat until Hard Crack (300–310°F).
  3. Take off heat and add flavoring and coloring.
  4. Stir well and pour out onto a buttered cookie sheet with sides.
  5. When partially set, start scoring with a buttered knife to make the candy easier to break into pieces.

Notes

  • Stand far away from mixture when adding the flavoring with an exhaust fan on because cinnamon oil is VERY strong.

  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 c Karo light corn syrup
  • 1 T water
  • 0.5 to 0.75 t flavoring oil, e.g. cinnamon oil
  • 0.5 t food coloring, optional
