Steps
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Grease the bottom and sides of a 9 x 13” pan.
In a bowl combine the dry ingredients (first 4 ingredients).
In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients (last 3).
Add the wet to dry and combine.
Pour into greased pan and bake for about 25-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Allow the cake to fully cool and top with homemade
buttercream icing
or ready-made icing.
Notes
Optional: garnish with dehydrated ‘pineapple flowers’

0.75 c sugar
1 t baking soda
0.25 t salt
1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple in juice, use juice too
0.5 c applesauce
1 t vanilla extract
